Adeyaka, which in Japanese Means “Fascinating,” and that is very accurate. This fascinating Camellia has a heavy bud-set which opens into a small to medium, currant red flowers. The blooms are bell shape like a hibiscus and appear in mid-season. This upright, dense plant with narrow, dark green leaves first bloomed in 1968 and was introduced by Dr. Parks.

Ashton’s Pride has a dense, spreading, slightly weeping habit and narrow leaves. The perfuse lavender-pink medium single flowers appear early in the season. This hardy introduction from Dr. Ackerman is a cross between Oleifera x Sasanqua and is hardy to -15°F
